In what ways does your OTS use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real OTS's?

This is a video we created to answer this question in a discussion.

We discuss our different opinions and thoughts on why we used these forms and conventions and what we think about them, also how they fit in to our OTS and if they work with the Film Noir genre.

The video explains the conventions;

*Representation
*Genre
*Audience
*Media technology
*Stereotypes.

The video also explains the forms;

*Sound
*Timing
*Distribution
*Edits
*Location
*Lighting
*Colour effects
* Dialogue
*Exhibition
*Narrative
*Camera angles
*audience
*Readability

We did not mention the forms and conventions that we challenged/broke whilst making our OTS, the main one was the fact that we created our OTS to be a Neo Noir which has the same aspects of an ordinary Noir but is based within modern day times which is not usually expected to be seen in a Film Noir. We chose to do this because it fits the audience age group of 18 to 25 year old's and would attract them more, also as we used digital filming which has a good quality modern look to it, it also suits the Neo Noir style. Also another aspect of our OTS which is different to the usual forms in a Noir is the lighting which is explained in the video, we chose to shoot in daylight rather than at night time which normal Noirs are set due to the fact we wanted the romance and story line between the two characters clear and easy to see by watching it. If this was filmed at night aspects may not be seen such as Johnathan being caring and putting his jacket round Scarlet when she was cold and them holding hands which is important to show their care and love for one another. Also after our first OTS was lost on the school server we realized that the OTS's lighting was to dark to see all the details in it so we chose to do the opposite to it by filming in daylight so it can be the best quality it possibly can.
